I Wanna Be a Hippie Slacker Again

Well, I haven't posted for 10 days.  I'm such a hippie slacker.
I mean, I've been working and writing...mostly the same thing...for 10 days.  I can't believe how much work it takes to write online if you are a type A first born who sometimes becomes a bit anal about photos and links... anyway.  This week I decided to become a hippie again.

Once you've gotten a taste of the good life (working from home, not answering the phone if it's someone you hate), it's hard to deny that you are not a hippie at heart.  So, this week, I've tried to be more spontaneous and not care too much about makeup.  I've been outside showing people what I really look like ala hippie style.  It's truly liberating.  I highly recommend it.  (Actually, I don't look much different than before...but it feels liberating.)

My goal is to be a hippie until 2012.  Then, if the world ends, it won't matter.  If the world doesn't end, I get to tease my husband mercilessly until he realizes that I am the superior being because I am a first born and he's an only child...haha.

Year of the Hippie Rabbit:
If you want to join me in the Year of the Hippie Rabbit, here are some articles that might be amusing...of course, you might be smoking pot...in which case you should just click the music links over and over until you fall asleep.  (This does not apply to my children.  They know I don't smoke anything and they shouldn't either, now get back to work.)

I'm not trying to put you on a bummer or anything like that, but we are getting older whether we like it or not.  Fortunately, aging hipsters can still rock out.  And...we're not "done for" yet.  There's still time to "save the world".  And, boy, does this world need some big-time saving. Is there any chance that young neo-hipsters can do something to carry on the legacy of peace and love without becoming naive wussies?  Let's hope they will continue the legacy.  Boho chic and hippie styles are about more than just fashion.

Cute Hippie Clothes - Plus Sizes:

I'm not trying to put you down.  I'm a fat chick (from medication).  For most of my life, I was on the skinny side...but my thyroid went nuts and what can I do?  I don't care if I'm fat as long as I look good.

Wow, designers are showing hippie clothes all over the internet...though they sometimes try to confuse people by saying it's "Boho Chic" or "Folkloric Feathered Fashion" or some other term of nonsense.  I say that this calls for a celebratory Twinkie...and, no, I don't smoke pot.  It's just a food flashback.

You need to forget everything you've been taught about fashion and see with new eyes. One brand I love is Luna Luz. I also like long skirts and dresses because they make me look leaner and taller. Add stack-heeled boots when you can. If you don't want to look too 60s, keep your clothing simple and go wild with accessories!

Personally, I'm just happy to find something that fits and that doesn't make me fall over laughing.
